Video: Bosnia and Herzegovina Prepares for Critical 2018 Elections

On March 7, 2017, the Consortium for Elections and Political Processes Strengthening (CEPPS) held a panel discussion on the current electoral environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina featuring Irena Hadžiabdić, chairperson of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Central Election Commission and an International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) Board director. The discussion focused on what remains to be done ahead of the elections in October 2018 and how the United States can best assist Bosnia and Herzegovina in advance of these key upcoming elections.

The event was moderated by IFES Regional Director for Europe and Eurasia Dr. Beata Martin- Rozumiłowicz. Panelists included:

  • Irena Hadžiabdić, Chairperson, Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Board Director, IFES
  • Jan Erik Surotchak, Regional Director for Europe, International Republican Institute
  • Robert Benjamin, Regional Director of Central and Eastern Europe, National Democratic Institute
