Elias Galvez-Arango

Elías Gálvez-Arango is the Democracy Data Officer at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), where he conducts election monitoring and coordinates research for ElectionGuide, the most comprehensive and timely source of verified election information available online. As a member of the Data Analytics and Visualization team, he also designs a wide variety of static and dynamic visuals to communicate IFES’s research findings.

Before joining IFES, Elías was a Fulbright grantee at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil, where he conducted research on regional public transportation accessibility. He also provided geospatial research support to water and sanitation programs at Mercy Corps and the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment.  Elías holds a BA in Urban Studies from Stanford University with a minor in Modern Languages.
